Timbers Country Lodge
Are you looking to stay at a different place in Norfolk? Are you bored with the standard hotel rooms? Do you want to have that relaxing time without paying over the odds? Well, you have come to the right place, Timbers Country lodge could be the perfect place for you.
In this article, I will be reviewing the positives and negatives of the Timber Country Lodge which is located just outside of King’s Lynn. I will also be giving the Timbers Country Lodge a review out of 5 so make sure you keep reading.
Address: Lynn Rd, Fincham, Norfolk PE33 9HE
Cost: Very good value, One of the cheapest when looking in the local area
Type of Business: Pub, Resturant, Wedding Venue and Accommodation
Telephone: 01366 347747
Let’s start with a list of the positives things about the Timbers Lodge, I would say things you could expect for your visit. But as every visit has the pretenal to be different, I won’t say this.
The reception and local area
Before you even step foot on to the property, your eyes will be attracted to the beauty of the location, the fantastic countryside that surrounds it.
As soon as you arrive you can’t help to notice the happy and friendly reception staff/Bar staff. They have a great welcoming matter as well as an in-depth knowledge of the surrounding areas, this is a massive plus in my eyes!
When walking into the cottage you will find a list of useful items that include (not all)
- A kettle with tea and coffee (a good amount of each)
- wash stuff
- iron and ironing board
And a welcome pack, which is amazingly detailed. The thing I found the most useful was the list of local attractions and amenities. I have stayed at a lot of places that include welcome packs but this is one of the most helpful I have seen.
The Restaurant/ Pub
The restaurant and Pub are located in the reception area. From your cottage is only a couple of steps.
The pub has a massive range of drinks. Range of Beers, Ciders, and Sprites at a competitive price.
The restaurant has 2 menus a set menu which is a very good value for money and the standard menu. Taylor and I were greeted and seated by a friendly host and sat in the restaurant area which was completely empty when we arrived.
The host was extremely helpful helped carter for my dietary needs. I believe his name was Ashley ( but don’t quote me on this).
The negatives I found are tiny in comparison to positives but I love to be over picky and give everyone the most unbiased reviews as possible. All the negatives are based on the room and can be easily solved/ most wouldn’t care.
Say this, the main negativity was the squeaky bed. It didn’t squeak when slept on it and had a very good nights sleep. But If we wanted to do something else on this bed are neighbors would have heard.
The second problem was the first opinion on the room, as it was rather small and you are in a large cottage split up, felt like a share house when walking up the stairs. Then you realize how unique the place is and it changes your mind rather quickly. Once you are in the room you wouldn’t know anyone else is around, and it’s just like any hotel room.
The last problem was the toilet was to close to the wall for my liking, the toilet is squeezed between the wall and the shower. Taylor never complained about this, maybe this is just a sign I should lose some weight.
So time to give my personal thoughts about the place, after listing things that others might great or not. I personally would recommend this place to anyone. This place advertises weddings and I can see why it is beautiful. I would stay there again if I need to visit the local area and I would give the place a 4 out of 5 (if anyone has read any of my other reviews they will know this is extremely high).
I never booked this place and it was chosen by Taylor, which was chosen due it being the cheapest place to stay and in the area. We were surprised at the value for money here.
If you want to see a different side of Norfolk, this is the place for you. Saying this Norfolk isn’t that big and using this place as a base for a couple of days could be the perfect way to explore the rest of Norfolk.
