The Coffee House – Mission to find England’s Unique coffee Shops

The Coffee House, Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds

In England, you will find an overload of Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Ziizees and Other multinational companies taking over the Coffee Seen. This is making finding a unique coffee shop hard and a little upsetting. The Country that is home to the cuppa, is now full of clone coffee shops. My mission to find a good coffee shop I ended up in The Coffee House,  Granted not the most unique name but let’s not critique the small stuff. This place is another chain coffee shop but it at a much smaller level and I will be answering the question; Does it lose that unique coffee shop vibe?

This is not paid review and all the thoughts and opinions are mine so you may have a different experience than me.

The Coffee House, Bury St Edmunds

Out in the sticks

I headed out in the sticks to find this place, just outside of Bury St Edmunds but its located in a Business park off a country park. It is signed up but blink and you miss the turn-off.

You know you’re in the middle of nowhere when you check your phone, the likelihood you will not have any signal, Which adds to the atmosphere of The Coffee House. People talk to one and another and don’t look stress staring at there phones. Saying this, they do have Wifi in store if you want to use it, I choose not too.

The Coffee House has a nice country vibe, With the relaxing music, on low. Stuff like Ben Howard was playing.

But don’t worry about parking as the shop is situated in a business park this means there is a lot of free parking available which is perfect as to get here you would have to drive.

Food and Drink

The Coffee House sells a massive range of Coffees and teas. Simple stuff from Americanos to more out there items like Lemon and ginger tea. They also have a range of cold drinks from soft drinks to milkshakes to smoothies.

This is the same again for the food menu, which is a Café Breakfast and lunch.  You will find a range of fresh cakes, sausage rolls as well as meals such as bacon buttes to avocado smash.

The prices of these Items are on the competitive side, More than your roadside café but average price places like Costa and Starbucks. The food here I personally feel is better quality.

Mocha – £3.10 (large)

Tea – £2.50

Bacon Butty – £2.75

They accept card here and the minimum spend is 70p.

The Shop itself

Also here they have locally sourced foods, drinks, and flavoring to take home. Things from honey to curry powers and even some Pillows and homeware. It helps build that country feel. It feels like a little one of the country shops with a cafe but the opposite way around, as the cafe is the more prominent thing.

Customer service

Everyone is friendly here and will chat with you if you want to chat, And it doesn’t feel fake. Unlike a lot of people within the hospitality sector. Very Pleasant

Dog-Friendly

I Would just like to add that the cafe is dog-friendly, which doesn’t affect the cleanliness of the place either.

Overall Opinions

Would I recommend trying out this place? Yes, Definitely especially if like me you are fed up with the massive chains taking over. I would give this place a 4 out 5, which could be one of my highest ratings for a coffee shop!
