Banana Leaf Cafe, Ubud Bali
Myself (The Funny Backpacker) And my other half Taylor MacKee thought we would try out one of the local restaurants and then write a review for others to read. Today’s review is on the Banana Leaf Cafe. Like a Lot of my reviews the on this site, I haven’t been paid and they don’t even know I am reviewing them. I will be giving my own opinions on everything, Please don’t take me as fact.
Name: Banana Leaf
Address: Sayan, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali 80571
Style of Food: Mixed
Overall I was very happy with everything in the Banana Leaf Cafe, apart from one thing which we will move to later. I would probably return If I was staying longer in Bali as I’m in Bali for one week. I would recommend this restaurant to people if they were fussy and wanted to play Bali safe.
The food was really tasty and there was a really good choice of all different cuisines. This Restaurant was very focused on tourists, So much that Banana Leaf is also a Spa.
The one common I will make about the food was it was rather small (Not my Pizza but the carbonara) Like a lot of meals in Bali, We just added extra chips.
Beautiful Cafe and lovely views, Very open. Due to this, it is rather warm, But I doubt you find a nice restaurant with area conditioning so can’t complain.
You can hear all the wildlife, Which lovely and we were the only people in the cafe too.
The Milkshakes were bang on it! Not too badly priced, But the Coka-Cola was something else.
Something you should watch out for in Bali, Opened bottles or bottles looking like they have been opened for you. Take this Coca-Cola Bottle for instead. I first didn’t think much of it looked like they opened it slightly for me then gave me a bottle. Good Service, Hey?
No, On closer review I noticed the Coke Bottle was very beaten up, that’s where I noticed the liquid inside did not belong to the bottle, yes it did taste a little bit like Coke but more off-brand (As I said before this was my opinion could have been Coke).
For 2 meals (pizza and carbonara) 3 drinks (2 milkshakes and a “coke”) and service fee was 300,000IDR ($30AUD)
Which is expensive for Bali and the locals pay around 20,000IDR a meal at home ($2AUD)
Thanks for reading!
Hope this helps you decide If it is worth going to the Banana Leaf Cafe.
